Definitely for the people who are able to prepare juices at their home for juice cleanse, it is difficult to find good recipes at one place. It is great to see that here people can get various recipes. Juice cleanses have so many health benefits and it is one of the best detoxification methods.

Juice cleanses definitely have so many health benefits and among them detoxification is a big one! Our intention has been for people to be able to find a good variety of juice cleanse recipes in one place so that they would not have to spend hours scouring the internet for them. I also love working on new recipes because it gives me a chance to have so many different juices! Thank you Andrew for stopping by and happy juicing!

Great site! I like you categorizing according to the types of fruits or vegetables. You can also categorize juice recipes according to the health problem or disease. It may be good idea. You already have a lot of recipes here. When I get bored from my today juicing recipes I'll be back to check for something new here. Thanks.

I juice ginger root quite a bit. I am on day 7 of a 60 juice fast (Started August 1, 2013). This website is AMAZING! I write down the recipes and carry my journal to the grocery store. I love the precise information, this allows me to keep a good juicing budget and save money. I don't over -buy or under-buy. As stated earlier I juice ginger root a lot. Recently, I read about "Tumeric Root", and the great health benefits it brings to the body. Can you please let me know if you have further information, and if you have juicing recipes, thanks! :0).

    • says

      Hello Tonya!

First of all congratulations on your juice cleanse! It sounds like you are coming along really well. We are very glad to have you with us and are happy that you are getting a lot out of the website!

We also love juicing ginger and I include it in a lot of my juices! Before I juiced turmeric I figured it would probably be very similar to ginger as it looks a lot like it, and has some of the same health benefits. Turmeric has a completely different flavor from ginger and sometimes can be a bit more of a challenge to work into juice. Of course this isn't to say that you cannot do it, you will just want to go easier with it at first.

We do not have any juicing recipes on our website that use turmeric as of yet, but will get around to this in the future! I can give you a few tips that will help you to include turmeric in your juice recipes.

The first tip is to go slow with it in the beginning, because it has a stronger kind of flavor that can overpower your juice. You can try to include it into juices like you would ginger, but cut the amount you use in half at minimum. Turmeric can cause a bit of a mess when juicing it and is actually used as a natural dye. This is not a big deal, but I wanted to let you know. This way when you juice with it you are just a bit more aware so that you do not end up staining your clothing or anything else. I would also recommend you washing your juicer sooner after juicing turmeric than you would with other items. It wont harm anything, it just might leave a stain if you wait to clean longer.

Also we have not written an article on the health benefits of turmeric as of yet, but I did write this article focused on its amazing anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric for inflammation! We hope this will be of some help to you Tonya and again want to congratulate you on your choice to better your health by doing an extended juice cleanse! Have a great day and if you have any other questions we are here!

Hello, thank you so much for your concise and informative website! It is the only one I have found that gives the measurements of the amounts of juice (i.e. (4 cups chopped) Carrots= 8 ounces juice). This is what I have been looking for. I started compiling a list of all the measurements and then thought to ask you if you have a master list. It would sure be very helpful to me. Thank you!!

    • says

      Hello Sandy,

We are very glad that you have found this information useful! We do not have a master list of all of the measurements at this time and wanted to let you know that the amounts of juice you get when you juice may vary by a bit depending on the type of juicer you use and also the produce. These are the amounts we got when we did each juice recipe at the time we made that juice. We also use a masticating juicer for our leafy green vegetables which will provide more juice than a centrifugal juicer for that type of produce.

If you are using a centrifugal juicer most of the items other than the leafy greens should be fairly similar, with some variation. For example 2 and 1/2 cups of apples will generally produce 7 ounces of juice using a masticating juicer, but using a centrifugal it produces roughly 6 to 6 and 1/2 ounces of juice. This way the ounces listed can still help to provide a rough estimate using any juicer again with the leafy greens being the exception.

If you are using a masticating juicer the ounces listed will vary sometimes, but should be pretty accurate for the most part.

We talk a bit more about how we put together our juice recipes on a page of our website named “How we make our juice cleanse recipes”. You can find this on the left hand side of any page under the category “Other information related to juicing for health”. Hopefully this will be of some help to you and if you have any other questions about anything at all let us know Sandy!

  7. Jill says

Hello, I’m looking for a recipe that will be a cleanse for my Lymph system. I would be very grateful if you could direct me towards a recipe for that if you don’t have one. I would be very grateful! Also, thanks so much for your great information and recipes on this page as well! We just bought a new juicer and I’m looking forward to using it to become more healthy!

    • says

      Hello Jill,

We are so glad to hear that you have bought a juicer and are ready to start juicing! I will be completely honest with that I do not know of a specific juice recipe at this time that definitively would help cleanse the Lymph system.

From what I have read and understand of the Lymphatic system a good place to start would be green juices. To be honest green juices are a great place to start for so many other reasons as well! A few other ingredients I have also read mentioned more than once are cranberry juice (not the store bought stuff, but real cranberries made into juice using your juicer), wheatgrass juice, grape juice, garlic and ginger. I am sure there are quite a few others but these are just some of the items I have read about more than once.

I have seen a few juice recipes listed as specifically good for the Lymphatic system without an explanation why. They seem to use ingredients you would see in almost any juice recipe. This is why I come back to green juices as I have seen them mentioned quite a few times when relating the Lymphatic system.

Movement and exercise such as yoga has also been cited as being good for your Lymphatic system. So if this is something you are focusing on you may want to consider a good mix of yoga, green juice and a variety of some of the other ingredients I mentioned above. We have juice recipes all over our site that would fit this description well! You can find them through the links on the left and right hand side of any of our pages and posts.

I am sorry I could not provide you with a single recipe that would be completely optimal for the Lymphatic system. I feel right now from everything I have read and understand that raw fruits and vegetables including some of those that are loaded with chlorophyll (green veggies mainly) would be the way to go. I have seen a few recipes on the internet claiming they are good for cleansing the Lymphatic system, but I have not been completely satisfied with the explanation or lack of explanation why.

When we provide information on our website we do our best to find multiple solid sources of information to confirm what we pass on. I would not want to just loosely link you to a recipe that I am not sure would have what you are looking for. What I talked about above is as much as I myself believe is credible relating to the lymphatic system. So you can use many of our juice recipes for this!

We are glad that you have found our website and wish you the best with your health and wellness Jill! If there is anything else you ever have a question about feel free to let us know! We are here to help and love hearing from people!

When contemplating changing my eating habits I was first thinking of getting a juicer but somehow I got detoured off my path (mostly by lisitng to a friend) and got a NutriBullet in June. I used it for about 3 months and at least it did get me eating fruit and vegetables regularly and trying new kinds of foods. But I now just ordered a juicer and should be getting in a week. I am selling the other applicance. I may get a blender sometime. I found it hard drinking such thick drinks just to get a bit more fiber & pulp. I should be able to get plenty from drinking greens. any suggestion for good combos of ingredients to juice? preferably ones that use only 4-5 types of "freggies"…Thanks all!!!

    • says

      Hello,

Congratulations on getting yourself a juicer! We do have a lot of suggestions, and you can find them on the left and right hand side of any of our pages! :) That is where the links are to all of our juice recipes! These all use different amounts of ingredients, and there are plenty of them that use 4-5 types of fruits and vegetables.

      Happy juicing!

I suffer from chronic tension headaches and i am constantly feeling slugish and tired. I have tried EVERYTHING to try n help my headaches but nothing has worked yet. Do u think juicing can be somenthing i can benefit from??

    • says

      Hello Karla,

I cannot guarantee anything at all for you specifically, but I can say from my own research and from some of the experiences of people I have known, that many people have either gotten rid of or have made issues like these much better. I have personally experienced an energy lift from juicing since I have began, and when I do juice cleanses I absolutely experience it there.

A woman on the movie Fat Sick and Nearly dead actually helped herself and her migraine issues by doing a juice cleanse. If you have not seen that movie you really should check it out. Last time I checked it was free on hulu.

Other things I can think of that you might want to look into are specific foods in your diet that might be a trigger for these issues. Good luck Karla and if you have any other questions feel free to ask them!

    • says

      Hello Chloe,

You can do a juice cleanse for any different amount of days. Some people do shorter 1 day juice cleanses here and there. Some people do 3 to 7 day juice cleanses. Some people do 10 days and beyond. We have done all of these, and also do extended  juice cleanses occasionally which can last 30 days and beyond. It really depends on your own personal goals. You can read more about juice cleansing in the “Juice Cleanse Information” category, which is at the top of every page and post inside of our website.

If you have any other questions Chloe let us know!

I watched the fat sick and nearly dead film and thought thats for me. I want to shed weight and get healthy,so i bought a juicer and have tried my first juice with celery and oh my it was awful. I realize i just cannot do juices with that in in. Just wanted to know what i could use as an alternative to celery in my juices.

    Thanks
    Dave

    • says

      Hey Dave,

That is a challenging one. Celery has a unique nutritional profile that fills in nutritional gaps, but to be fair, so do many other fruits and vegetables. While it is rare some people actually have an allergy to some of the properties inside of celery, so it is not a must for anyone.

I recommend trying to get celery into juices for a lot of its nutritional value, which also includes its awesome hydrating powers. While it doesn’t have the same nutrition, I would offer up that you try to add cucumber in place of your celery. Also try to get some carrots, and beets into your juices if you can. Other than this if you are juicing a decent variety of fruits and vegetables you should be just fine Dave. All fruits and vegetables have amazing nutritional profiles.

A lot of the times we do not all like the same ingredients in our juices, so its all good if you want to explore and find what works for you. Have a good one Dave!

    Hello,

I was wondering if you could suggest a juicing recipe that is good for cleansing/weight loss? I have a pretty sensitive system so it needs to be on the mild side. I’m not allergic to any fruits or vegetables so whatever you think is best for what I’m looking for would be great! Thank you so much for the help!

    Jill

    • says

      Hey Jill!

Have you read our juicing for weight loss article yet? It’s got a load of advice about this, and includes a list of very specific ingredients that are optimal to use in juices for weight loss.

As far as a specific juice recipe goes, any of our green juice recipes would be good for what your looking for. You can find them by clicking the category up top named “Juice Cleanse Recipes”. Once inside you’ll see different links to different pages that contain juice cleanse recipes. The link to our green juices as well as many other juicing recipe pages can be found there.

    Hi there :)

My wife just delivered a few days back ..
Was wondering if you could suggest a few juice recipes that she could use for this period of time where her body needs a nutrition boost

    ThankYouuuuuuu

    • says

      Hello Mohammed,

      First off, congratulations! :)

Iron and calcium are a couple of important nutrients to get after a pregnancy. A couple of vegetable sources of iron are spinach and broccoli. Good vegetable sources of calcium include Turnip Greens, Kale, Bok Choy, and Broccoli Raab. Regular broccoli can be a decent source of calcium also. We have a calcium juice recipes page, a broccoli juice recipe page, and a spinach juice recipe page. Any of the recipes on these pages will be helpful, and will also provide lots of other nutrients for your wife as well! If something isn’t tasting great to your wife, you can always modify the recipe by adding a bit more apple or something else. You can find all of those recipes and more by following this link here.

I found your site yesterday while searching for reasons that my friend would have thrown up after drinking beet juice. We had pulled all our beets from our garden and juiced a few. It didn’t agree with him at all, but I felt so amazing that I wanted to do a cleanse. I’ve juiced off and on for about a year, but I’ve never done a cleanse. I bought your book and today is Day 1. I am loving – LOVING – juice one. It is so tasty. I can’t wait to make the second juice.

    • says

      Hello Shelley,

Thanks for leaving a comment about your friend’s and your experience, and I’m also happy to hear you got a copy of our eBook and are doing well so far! It’s interesting you just left this comment about the beets, because I was just responding to another comment about beet juice right before I saw yours. I also have never had any issues with juicing beets, but there are some people that do. It would be wise for anyone newer to juicing, or anyone in general to go slow at first when juicing beets.

Do keep us posted about how your juice cleanse is going or how it went once you’re done Shelley, and if you ever have any questions at all let us know! :)

      • shelley says

I do have one question. I wasn’t able to drink a gallon of juice yesterday and it’s looking like that will be challenging today as well. I’m just not hungry for it. My usual calorie intact is around 1200/day. I did all my usual exercise yesterday, an hour of yoga in the morning and then in the evening I did the usual 8.4 mile bike ride followed by a 2.6 mile hike.

Is it reasonable for me to just not need to drink a gallon of juice? I drank about 3/4 of a gallon and just couldn’t drink any more.

        • says

          Hey Shelley,

We have heard from a few people who experience the same thing you are, and our advice has always been if that’s all you can drink in a day and your body is feeling good with it just go with it. Some of this can be dependent upon body size as well, and so it is hard to make a one size fits all rule. The gallon a day is a general guideline, and is also there to make sure that people understand to not drink too little during their juice cleanse. So many people who are trying to lose weight bring along the thinking that less is better, when it really isn’t in the long run. My feeling is that you are not having to worry a whole lot about this specific issue as your regular caloric intake requirements don’t sound too high.

Go with your gut and drink as much as you feel is good for you! I think that will probably work out well for you and your situation. :)

  15. jane says

Hi, I’ve just started juicing for my psioratic arthritis and enjoyed looking at your juice recipes Im ready to be creative! a couple of questions however are all your juices shown on your website compatible to my condition? Are there any I shouldn’t use? Also is it recommended to have a juice every couple of hours? Thanks in advance

    • says

      Hello Jane,

Most of the recipes on the site should be compatible, but you’ll want to avoid those that use nightshade vegetables such as tomatoes, and Peppers. If you’re doing a juice cleanse heck yes you can drink a juice every couple hours or whenever you want. If you’re adding juice to your regular diet you don’t really need to drink one every couple of hours.

Personally, I juice cleanse sometimes and then in between I usually drink one larger green juice a day. Sometimes I’ll drink a couple juices throughout the day along with my regular diet. If you start drinking larger amounts of juice on a daily basis, make sure that they include more vegetables than fruit. You want dense nutrition without loads of added sugar when drinking a lot of juice, but there’s nothing wrong with adding some fruit juice in the mix!

If you have any other questions let me know, I’ll do my best to clarify anything that I can. :)
