To help people make better choices when on a budget or when selection of organic produce is limited in their area there have been two lists made. These lists contain the fruits and vegetables which in general have the most pesticide residues on and within them(The Dirty Dozen) and also the fruits and vegetables which in general have the least amount of pesticide residues on or within them(The Clean Fifteen).
If you are limited only to conventionally grown produce the benefits of including fruits and vegetables in your diet will still outweigh the risks of exposing yourself to pesticides. These lists can still help you make healthier decisions regarding your produce purchases. If you do have access to organic produce and/or want to make healthier decisions regarding which produce you put into your body then these lists will also definitely be of great help to you.
As spoken about above the Dirty Dozen is a list of produce which in general contains the most pesticide residues meaning that it is important to purchase these items organic as much as possible. The list varies slightly from source to source and adds new produce from time to time, but in general it consistently has a lot of the same items over and over. Each year the environmental working group puts out an updated list for each of the Dirty Dozen and the Clean Fifteen. These are the updated lists for 2016.
The Dirty Dozen– Listed from the items with the most pesticide residues in general to the least.
#8. Sweet Bell Peppers

Knowing the items on the clean fifteen list can help you save money if you are on a budget or are limited to only certain organic produce items. As related to juicing and especially doing a juice cleanse knowing which items you can buy at a cheaper price can save a whole lot of money over time. I always recommend going the organic route as much as possible, but sometimes it is just not possible on a budget and this list is another way to really help with your decisions.
The Clean Fifteen
#2. Sweet Corn
#5. Sweet Peas (Frozen)
#15. Sweet Potatoes
