Summer. Awwww! You look forward to it all year long. Long walks on the beach, sunscreen, family time, AND THE SCORCHING HEAT!! When it’s unceasingly hot you just want to set up camp in your freezer and chug anything cold (or freezing) you can get your hands on. GIVE ME THAT BLEEPING POPSICLE! I could hear myself saying… And now a little bit on why certain fruit and veggies are cooling.
Certain fruit and vegetables are cooling because they have a high water content. This slows down digestion and takes less energy to burn, which in turn creates heat. Also, cooling fruit and vegetables help expel toxins in your system. Toxins = body works harder = heat.
Now that we’ve cleared that up, I am gonna give you a list of 10 cooling fruit and vegetables that will help you survive the heat. Plus, there’s no guilt in drinking these everyday cause it’s healthy and not a pint of Haagen-Dazs. Enjoy!
Watermelon is synonymous with summer. It’s actually the best time to grow them. You can eat it fresh, put it into a recipe, or juice it.
