Hey, it’s the holidays, so you gave in and ate like crazy! It happens to the best of us. You may be feeling a little down and discouraged about your health or your weight now that all of the holiday hoopla has passed? You don’t have to go there. In fact you can use what you’ve learned to propel yourself forward!
These tips below will give you the insight and motivation you need to get back on the horse, to pick back up your walking sticks and climb that mountain, to put down your white flag and re-commit yourself to your health and weight loss goals! Yes, juicing can be a big part of this, but before I get into how juicing can help, you’re going to need to get yourself into the right mindset.
Don’t Give Up
You’ve probably heard someone say the words “don’t give up,” a thousand times. How is this revolutionary you might be thinking? Well, now that you’ve already binged out over the holidays there isn’t any reason to beat yourself up all day long. Have you ever heard the saying, “Don’t cry over spilled milk?” This is the exact occasion you should listen to this quote because mulling over in your head about what you could of or should of done, isn’t going to get you anywhere!
Now is not the time to hang your head in shame and give up on all of the health goals you’ve been wanting to achieve. Now is the time to redouble your efforts! Take it from me, if you get right back to doing what you know needs to get done in order to get you closer to where you want to be, before you know it you’ll high five yourself and be fist-pumping gloriously all day long! 🙂
It doesn’t matter if you’ve given up a thousand times in your head, it only matters what you do with this very moment right now. If you’re reading this then you’re still with us and guess what that means? It’s time to let go of the past and move forward in the present!
Don’t Get On That Scale!
There seriously is no reason to weigh yourself immediately after your binge because your weight fluctuates and a lot of what you’ll be counting as extra pounds is really food and other matter that will soon be vacating! Seeing those numbers on your scale can really get you down. Before you know it you’ll be convincing yourself that there’s just no way you can lose the weight you need. You’ve got to give it at least a couple of days before you go there, and you don’t even have to then.
What you need to do is shift your focus onto what is going to get you forward versus continually paying attention to what is not. Now, here’s how juicing can help you move in the right direction!
Juice Is Concentrated Nutrition
Eating too much makes you sluggish, foggy, and generally not feeling too good! Juicing does the exact opposite. It does so by offering your body more nutrition in less calories. Vegetables and many fruits are low calorie nutrient rich foods. When you juice these, what you are essentially doing is extracting some of the best stuff out of them and concentrating it into a glass of juice. The massive dose of nutrition inside of that glass of juice can help you to feel energized, focused, and pretty good!
One thing to remember is to keep your juices heavier on the vegetable side and use fruit mainly as a way of adding some extra incentive to drink them. Fruit is for flavoring while vegetables are for nutrition. Don’t get me wrong fruits contain some awesome nutrition, but they also contain a lot of sugar. Keep your juices lean and green!

One way to start recovering from your holiday binge is to enjoy one glass of green juice a day. This will start giving your body the nutrition it needs and will also bring your energy back up, so you’ll be less tempted to run to over-eating when you’re not feeling so well. Since many of us use food as an escape or to “feel better” temporarily, simply increasing your energy can be huge!
You Can Do A Juice Cleanse
I’ll tell you this right from the start. I’m not the kind of person who likes to binge and then do a juice cleanse right after, and I won’t advise you to do the same. I know it can be tempting to think that you can live your life by binge eating and then simply juice cleansing it away after, but this really isn’t healthy behavior that’s going to get you where you want to be for the rest of your life. What you need is a healthy way of living that you make into a lifestyle.
Juice cleansing can most definitely help you to get started on this healthy journey, but if you’re going to do one after your holiday binge, I’d recommend you wait at least a couple of days. You don’t want to start a pattern of overindulgence followed by limiting what you’re taking into your body. To be fair, I don’t recommend a “juice fasting” sort of juice cleanse to lose weight to begin with. If you’re going to do a juice cleanse, you want to feast!
One incredibly understated benefit of doing a juice cleanse or juicing over a longer period of time is that it can change your taste buds so you start craving healthier foods. This means that doing a juice cleanse after your holiday binge could literally be the beginning of a completely new direction for you.
Again, I suggest you wait a couple of days before you start a juice cleanse after binge eating and be sure that you’ve cleaned up your diet a bit like I suggest in this article here.
Don’t Give Up On Your Overall Diet
Juicing and juice cleansing can really give you the extra boost you need to recover after a holiday binge but remember in the long run these are both tools to be added to an overall healthy diet and lifestyle. The healthiest thing you can do for yourself is to include these into a complete health plan and don’t rely on them as the only way for you to lose weight or get healthy. Juicing works best and is most powerful when you combine it with the other healthy choices you make on a daily basis.
Remember, your health is a marathon not a sprint. One binge is literally a small bump in the road unless you make more out of it than it is! Now fire your juicer up and start living!
