Welcome to day 18 of the 30 Days To Green Juicing Challenge!
Today is all about skin health. Are you looking to improve your skin? The recipe of the day is called “The Simple Skin Tonic”. For those of you who like taking the extra time to care for your skin, this recipe is for you. Oh, plus you got to like carrots and cucumber! You’ll find the juice recipe on the bottom of the page after the content.
Did you know that carrot juice is high in vitamin A which is good to prevent acne, dry skin, and premature wrinkling? Plus, cucumber juice is good for for anti-inflammation and puffiness. We have an article about 5 vegetables and fruit juices that are good for you skin. It explains what vitamins and minerals are in the veggies and fruit and how they positively affect your skin including acne, anti-aging, and even eczema!
If you’re interested here are some extra tips that will help you have healthier skin. At the bottom of the page you will also find your juice recipe for today, which is a juice recipe for skin health.
Keep your skin moisturized:
Why? Water helps flush out toxins and waste. It also keeps your skin moisturized and healthy looking.
Vitamins and Minerals:
Fresh and raw vegetable and fruit juices are packed with vitamins and minerals which benefit your skin’s health.
Sleep is incredibly important for you skin:
Lack of sleep can lead to dark circles and saggy skin around the eyes and increase the severity of acne and psoriasis. Poor sleep can also contribute to the worsening of dermatitis and eczema. Your
skin needs rest from the stresses of the day including exposure to harmful UV rays, extreme weather, and pollution. It’s no wonder people say they need to get their beauty sleep, they were right!
Stress can also lead to unhealthy skin:
When you are stressed, the body produces more cortisol and other hormones. Your glands will produce more oil which can lead to breakouts and acne. When stressed it can worsen eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, cause hives, rashes, and flare-up fever blisters. I know all this sounds bad, but don’t worry, just take measures to aid your well-being. Take time to yourself, lessen your load, or even exercise. Exercising releases feel good hormones into your body, so you naturally stress less. This leads me to the last tip for today: Exercise.
Exercise is good for your skin:
But that seems weird. How can exercising help skin health? By exercising you increase blood flow, which in turn carries oxygen and nutrients to your skin. This helps your skin from aging. When you sweat during exercise your body releases toxins through your pores. This helps prevent pimples, and blemishes. Exercise helps lessen stress and anxiety, which I said above. This will put skin rashes and blemishes more at bay. Also, exercise helps tone the skin which keeps it more youthful and vibrant.
Now, onto the recipe of the day. It simple, yet tasty.
