You are 2/3 through this challenge. It’s day 20 and you’re kicking butt! As you have seen throughout this challenge we have slowly increased the amount of green juice in the recipes of the day. We are trying to get you used to the taste of green juice. For some people this can be a challenge. Some people have more experience juicing, and some people are just beginning. Not only have you been getting more nutrition in your body each and everyday, through this challenge you learn how to incorporate more green veggies in your juice.
Fruit juice is tasty, no one can deny that, but why do we drink green/vegetable juice? Among its great taste, fruit juice has a plethora of nutrients, but vegetable juice (especially green juice) is lower in calories and higher in nutrition. Also, fruit juice can spike your blood sugar, diabetics should be mindful. Moderation is key. So, the main difference between fruit and vegetable juice is sugar.
The advantage of adding fruit juice to your vegetable juice is the flavor. Vegetable juice alone can be strong tasting, especially for beginners. Once you start drinking more juice, you may have to add less fruit to is. There is nothing wrong with drinking fruit juice, you just don’t want to drink it all the time. Who knows, after this challenge you may find that you can make a pure green/vegetable juice to your liking. If not, that’s ok too. Just remember to keep a good balance of vegetable juice to fruit juice and you’ll be just fine!
Your Juice Recipe For Today
The juice recipe of the day is called Half and Half. Can you pour it into your morning coffee? Probably not. It’s a juice that is 50% green juice and 50% fruit juice. It is a tasty blend, but we wouldn’t advise you add it to your morning joe, it just wouldn’t taste right….. It is a blend of fruit and vegetable juice, so you get the flavor and the nutrition.
