Hello! Day 5 of your 30 Days To Green Juicing Challenge is here, and so far we have been using only one ingredient in each of our juices. Today is the first day we’re going to include two different ingredients! Your juice recipe for today can be found near the bottom of the page, and it’s a tasty one!
Bringing in some variety is a small first pre-step to warming you up to the awesome world of green juicing! Day 7 will be the first day that we actually bring a green ingredient into the mix, so it’s a good time to get started with a couple of multi-ingredient juices!
Getting More Nutrition Into One Juice
Mono juices (juices with one ingredient) can be very tasty, and can also be a good way of getting the nutrients of a single vegetable or fruit into your body. Many people drink specific mono juices for the flavor alone, or because they are targeting very specific health issues and want relief. Cranberry juice is a good example of this and is consumed to relieve urinary tract issues.
The truth is the more you learn about the nutrition contained inside of each vegetable and fruit, the more you may realize that you want to get into your body as much of the goodness each of them has to offer! With green juices this can be a challenge as some of them have a very strong flavor that can be hard to handle on their own for most people. This is part of the reason multiple ingredient vegetable and fruit juices are so popular!
These kinds of juices are loaded with nutritional value, and the greener they are the more nutrient dense they become! Strong green juices also contain fewer calories, and much less sugar.
Today’s juice is not a green juice, but is a multi-ingredient juice with a flavor you may be familiar with. We bet that you might of grown up drinking lemonade, or have at least tried it before? If you haven’t, no worries you’re about to! This juice is very delicious and will get you started on the path towards more nutrient dense juicing!
